Puducherry ideal for investments in tourism, says CM V Narayanasamy

PUDUCHERRY: Chief minister V Narayanasamy, who is on a three-day visit to Singapore to participate in an investors’ meet, attended the Asian business leaders’ conclave 2019 on Friday.

Speaking at the conclave, Narayanasamy listed out the opportunities for the global industrial, corporate and trade houses for investing in various sectors in the Union territory of Puducherry. He said Puducherry, which has a similar ‘landscape like Singapore’, has great potential for profitable business and industrial investments.

He said Puducherry has evolved as an ideal destination for investments particularly in the tourism, tourism-related infrastructure development and skill-development sectors. Scores of representatives of leading industries, corporate and trade houses from Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Myanmar and Hongkong among other countries participated in the conclave.

He mooted the idea of exchanging students and teaching faculty members of polytechnics institutes and engineering colleges in Puducherry and similar institutions in Singapore to undertake joint academic and research activities. It will be a great initiative for students and teaching faculty members to upgrade their skills, he said.
