President – DLAI and CEO, Indialends
Gaurav Chopra is a business strategist-turned-entrepreneur with more than 15 years of domain expertise in driving innovation in digital finance, credit analytics and mobile payments in the Indian and global markets.
As President of DLAI, Gaurav is responsible for overall management of the trade body, growth, strategies, profitability and expansion of DLAI.
At IndiaLends, Gaurav is responsible for building and executing growth strategies and cementing strategic partnerships, while delivering innovative products and solutions for borrowers and financial institutions.
He played a key role in expanding operations in the initial years of IndiaLends, consolidating business, and establishing a vibrant work culture for its employees.
He is assiduously working towards eliminating the unorganised lending sector in India and bringing more people into the formal credit system through better underwriting techniques and technologies.
Gaurav currently holds the position of President at the Digital Lenders Association of India (DLAI), an industry body representing digital lenders that addresses issues governing the industry by engaging with the government on regulations and policy changes. He was one of the nine founding members of the association and for the past two years, he held the position of a Treasurer for the association.
Before moving to India in 2013, Gaurav spent eight years at Capital One Bank, UK, where he successfully headed its analytics, credit risk, marketing and business strategy segments.
Gaurav is an MBA from London Business School, a MSc. from London School of Economics, and a BA (Hons.) in Mathematics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi.
