Born 12 May 1950, Mr. Rathod is an Indian Citizen and PR of Singapore. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Andhra University in 1970 and CPA from Institute of Chartered Accountant of India in 1976.

Mr. Rathod began his career in India in 1976 at ICICI Bank and then Ashok Leyland. He then relocated to Indonesia, working at PT Texmaco Indonesia Jaya and PT Tripatra Engineering from 1981 to 1987.

Mr. Rathod has been with the Bakrie Group in Indonesia for the last 32 years holding various senior positions. Upon joining in 1987 the group market cap was US$ 35 million. By 2008 this figure rose to its peak of US$ 25 billion. He has a track record of successfully turning around several non-performing assets into profitable and valuable investments.

Mr. Rathod has played a critical and transformational role within the group. Following a decade of growth, he was involved in restructuring both the business and financial profile of the Bakrie Group after the 1997 financial crisis. He has been instrumental in almost all mergers, acquisition, and financing transactions for the group, amounting to over US$ 20 billion cumulatively.

Mr. Rathod is also a successful entrepreneur, with investments in industries such as coal, shipping and logistics services, biotechnology, and ceramic tile manufacturing.

Mr. Rathod is also active socially. He was elected as President of India Club Jakarta for over 10 years. Currently he is a Board Member and Treasurer of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
