SUMMARY

Maria Dionisia Villalba has a Bachelor degree on International Studies at the Central University of Venezuela and holds a title degree on Business Administration from a senior technician university in Caracas. She has a Specialization in International Law on Economics and Integration from the Central University of Venezuela.

She is a career diplomat, joined the Venezuelan Diplomatic in 1991 as a Third Secretary. Her first posting was as Vice-consul at the Venezuelan Consulate in Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America (1994-1997). Other appointments abroad have been at the Venezuelan Embassy to Peru (1997-2001) and the Venezuelan Embassy to Guyana (2010-2012). She was promoted to First Secretary in 2000.

Throughout her professional career she has worked for several departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Caracas: General Office for International Cooperation and Economics, Deputy Minister for Europe, General Office for Border Affairs, Deputy Minister for North America and lately for the Deputy Minister for Asia, Middle East and Oceania.

She currently holds the diplomatic rank of First Secretary.
