Leading and seasoned clean energy stalwart, Mr Ashish Khanna is on a new mission to reshape the renewable energy realm in India. He currently spearheads the Renewables arm of Tata Power as CEO, TPREL, wherein he is vested with the responsibility of growing the firm’s clean energy business. Here, he proudly projects this unit’s growth to multiply five times by 2025. Today, Mr Khanna presides a sizable professional front, with India’s renewable energy
sector being dubbed as the fourth most attractive market in the world.

While his previous stint as the CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power Solar Systems, he swept a massive clean energy shift by growing its portfolio to multifolds. In May 2018, Mr Khanna took the direct responsibility of increasing the renewables revenue for Tata Power Group and he confidently projected to scale up its generation capacity to 15 GW by 2025. Mr Khanna is an optimist person, who has a vast industry expertise and began his scintillating journey with Tata Power in the year 2007. He is a respected strategic thinker, committed to
delivering excellence through on-ground project execution and teamwork. His confidence and passion for customers are supporting Tata Power Renewables to build competencies in homegrown technologies and innovation.

Additionally, he is also the Chairman of the century-old ASSOCHAM’s — National Council of New and Renewable
Energy unit. Mr Khanna was recently named as the Meaningful Business 100 Leaders for 2021, by Meaningful Business,
a global platform acknowledging exemplary leaders excelling at amalgamating profit with purpose. Before joining Tata Power, he was associated with organizations like Bechtel and Engineering India Limited. He is also a distinguished member of renowned business councils and collaboratives like the CII, the FICCI and the ICC. Being an articulate influencer, he shares the professional circuit with Government figures and enables them to carve out policies for the public good.

Mr Khanna holds an engineering degree from the Delhi Technological University (Formerly Delhi College of
Engineering) and completed his master’s degree in Management and Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology,
New Delhi, in 1997
