Woman & Childcare Conference
25 Sep 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ initiative as part of The National Health Policy 2017 to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This initiative has been designed to meet sustainable development goals and its underlining commitment, which is to “Leave No One Behind”. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has been playing a pivotal role by launching some key initiatives focusing on Woman & Child Care – Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), Mother’s Absolute Affection (MAA) and Mission Indradhanush, to name a few.
Alarmingly, India’s doctor-patient ratio lags far behind in comparison to other developing nations. An estimated 26 million children are born every year, which are attended to by a pool of only 1 lac doctors. Every child and every woman matters, if we are to build a healthier and progressive nation. Policy makers must take a huge leap by addressing some pressing issues – female foeticide, high mortality rates, infertility, basic medical facilities, trained doctors, a better understanding and appreciation of mental health, nutrition, family planning, etc. to address issues concerning women & child care in totality.
The Economic Times Woman & Child Care Conference brings together experts from the sector to discuss and deliberate upon the key challenges and roadblocks impacting the healthcare sector, specifically focusing on Woman & Child Care. This is a summit with a heart that will emphasize on providing access to high quality healthcare services for mother and child.
